Queensmead Sports Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Plenty of badminton courts to play
Fantastic experience: Always a bit second rate, but the new manager seems to have cleaned it up a lot, has a far better atmosphere now too. Worth a try.
Positive experience: Quiet and clean gym. Unfortunately, I have noticed that the last few times goings the car park is full due to the site being shared with Goals. Showers are down.
Fantastic experience: Badminton courts were really good
Fantastic experience: Keep fit... go!
Positive experience: Very big charitable community centre, good staff, looks good, toilets and bathrooms are clean, but when it’s come for activities really hard to book in, have so much of membership has been issued and issuing but they don’t have that capacity to serve them the same, just keep selling the membership without the limits, should have some calculations or budgeting before taking more members, I have been a member for badminton club, I only managed to book 2 40 mins sessions for the whole month and also it’s for 10:20pm session, really disappointed. May you should thing twice!
Fantastic experience: Excellent
Positive experience: Good local authority facilities.....
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and professional staff but the out of date facilities and infrastructure can be a bit off putting.
Negative experience: Their staff cancelled my sessions, claimed I cancelled it, only gave me credit instead of a refund. So not only do I miss out but now I need to waste my time to get my money back
Negative experience: It's the most expensive in my 10 miles radius and the dirtiest of them all
Fantastic experience: Great place, staff friendly and very accomodating
Fantastic experience: My son loved it when visited first and is now become practice. More should be like this.
Fantastic experience: All the equipment you need and the bonus is that it's always quiet enough to get a good workout in
Fantastic experience: Excellent, clean and value for money
Negative experience: Can only use gym after 4pm weekdays pointless
Positive experience: Decent gym for the price opening times awkward due to school using as well Junior gym members stay beyond 5 which can be annoying overall good value for money and staff very friendly especially Dave!!!!
Fantastic experience: Top class
Positive experience: Good
Negative experience: Impossible to get any information - the phone number goes to an automated loop, the online 'chat' option is never active. All I want to do is find out about badminton membership and then join. Awful!
Negative experience: WHY CAN'T I CALL AND SPEAK TO SOMEONE? I found a number which puts me in am endless loop. Aaarrrggghhhh.
Negative experience: Hadn't been here for a few years and visited this week hoping to use the gym. The place has gone really rather down hill, quite intimidating to the point where I didn't want to use the gym, and it could use a serious clean.
Positive experience: Good location for Badminton with parking. Courts requires improvement
Fantastic experience: Fairly good sports centre and friendly staff
Negative experience: I have been a member for many years as it is local to me but the gym itself isn't nice. When machine's beak they are left for months and months. The ladies showers were out of action for around 6 months in 2018, the ladies toilet has never had hand soap in it, the water machine gives out cloudy, dirty water.... I know its a council run gym but they must make enough money to fix these minor issues.
Positive experience: Good facilities. Crowded and Needs to be refurbished!
Negative experience: Awful for parking. took me 15 minutes to find parking yesterday.
Fantastic experience: A decent gym with good equipment close to goals so you can have a quick session at the gym then have a kick about at goals also their court is really nice and well maintained
Positive experience: Decent gym.Large amount of free weights. However machines are always broken and usually takes around 1-2 months before they get fixed. and can get very busy at 4pm on a weekday when it opens. No squat rack so it's difficult to do free weight squats. If you're serious about leg day don't go to this gym.
Positive experience: Friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Adequate facilities for what I’m after, loads of parking and staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Positive experience: Nice gym
Positive experience: Odd opening times on weekdays at 4 PM... mainly because it's owned by the council and used by the school morning till afternoon. No swimming. Badminton, TT courts are okay. Gym equipment is standard too. If you dont like crowded gymnasium, this is the place to be. Ample equipment reserved for a select few it feels. Fee at 20 bucks a month for the gym seems okay too...
Fantastic experience: Sport centre
Positive experience: Been to several parties here (generally for under 8's) there is normally a bouncy castle type thing and a bouldering wall. There are what look like 5 a side football goals out, all for the sole use of the party. There is ample free parking. There always seems to be bring your own food cake and drinks. Lots of space for the parties.
Positive experience: Nice equipment but restricted opening times
Fantastic experience: had a look around
Fantastic experience: Friendly helpful fitness instructors and a good atmosphere
Positive experience: Looks clean, friendly staff
Positive experience: Needs a serious upgrade in equipment staff are amazing
Negative experience: Badminton courts very bad. Flooring and lighting is very bad too, playing badminton very hard we are group of 6 i have to go with them all the time, if not they can't play new rules, most of the staff very good (90 %) because of flooring, lighting and new rules i give them 1 *
Negative experience: Badminton courts and dirty and full of junk . Flooring is cracked in many places and looks unkempt. Lighting is hopeless. Maintenance of these courts are ignored so much that the wall clock has not been working for more than a year now. Too many courts are cobbled into a small area. Have to say , staff are helpful though . Hence once star.
Positive experience: Excellent function rooms and bar ;)
Fantastic experience: Good atmosphere for badminton...lots of parking space available
Positive experience: Parking is a problem. Otherwise ok
Positive experience: Great gym and sports hall
Fantastic experience: Excellent kids tennis coach
Positive experience: Ample parking space which is shared with Goals. Good amount of badminton courts. Reception staff is helpful.
Negative experience: needs knocking down and rebuilding . facilities very poor
Positive experience: We go there for badminton. Slowly less space to play now.
Negative experience: It’s often dirty, the same mud found on the floor/machines can last for a week or two, and machines feel sticky at times - I've completed a suggestion form they have at the reception but struggled to fit it in the box as it was full.. apparently the box is just there for decoration. It's a shame... so I quit.
Positive experience: Good place for working out
Fantastic experience: Quite pleased with the facilities. The staff are friendly. I've been a racket member for a while now and I don't regret a second.
Positive experience: Great kids parties
Fantastic experience: Best instructor and equipment at the Gym
Positive experience: Neat and spacious sports center with a really helpful team Of employees.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and gym goers, has all the basics for a good workout!
Positive experience: The staff seem a bit more laid back than you would expect. The sports hall hasn't been updated (bar a small climbing wall) since I left school there, and that was 22 years ago. The party we attending was great but that was more due to the parents contribution than the sports centre. There was no input from staff during the allotted time.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional staff! complaining to management from past 6 months for not getting the badminton courts booking. I am racket club member and resident of Hillingdon, not able to book courts. after so many companies, I have decided to leave this sports center and be member somewhere else where my money is valued and can continue quality sporst activity.
Positive experience: Convenient sports center with good facilities but the sports hall needs an HVAC to maintain a sensible ambient temperature. Badminton nets look old and dirty. Staff are friendly and polite, which is always nice.
Negative experience: Not only badminton courts are booked out by other external clubs under "club's block booking criteria" but also management isn't willing to extend help. No email reply, so please don't bother writing unless your are putting effort to put formal complaint to CA or local authority. We send 3 emails to the manager, bouncing from one to another but no reply at all. It's like management itself is not willing to work, equality is just another words for them. We spoke to onsite admin, who said sorry they can't help. Advised to email managers, who are too busy to reply. With the start of booking window for next week, all morning sessions are gone. The only options shows availabilities are some day 1pm some days 3pm or some days are fully booked out due to party or other activities. Someone booked tennis coaching months in advance, if it's sunny they will play out but that bookings are not made available to general members based on advanced weather forecast. Surely on site sports team can check and make sure other paid members are benefited with short notice cancellation but no extra efforts policy.
Negative experience: Queensmead sports centre has started letting down people of South Ruislip !! I used to play badminton for years here but lately from 6 months , groups from Harrow leisure started exploiting the club memberships , can’t get a single court to book anytime for next 2 weeks . When approached the manager , he lied on the face saying that we don’t do any block bookings but all that happens is they do block bookings and people don’t even turn up , most of the time the courts are free and all they say it’s booked and others don’t get to play . The club is popular for badminton and it’s getting exploited . When is the last time you see a court available to book online ?? Please do something about it ? Why don’t you have the same process of charging people when they don’t turn up like the you do for classes ? The club is supposed to serve the local community but not other clubs from other councils , council members should have priority I believe than other council members !!
Fantastic experience: It's amazing
Negative experience: Avoid QMS for playing bedminton. Courts are hardly available for members to play. Majority of courts are already booked for clubs at higher prices. To make it worse courts are also occupied for other activities- Trampoline and parties. Very poorly managed.
Fantastic experience: Good sporting facilities!
Fantastic experience: sufficient for badminton
Positive experience: Good enough to get my ball on! Sho nuff! ✌ Rent out half court and get ballin
Positive experience: OK always pretty busy
Positive experience: There are bigger and more functional gyms nearby but this is good enough if you want the hall
Positive experience: It's good efficient, clean but few repairs are waiting in batminton court area
Fantastic experience: Clean and good quality facilities with friendly staff. Great for private parties and advanced sports bookings.
Positive experience: I am a regular at the yoga..The teacher's are really good however the relaxing experience is spoilt by the level of cleanliness of the studio.
Positive experience: Badminton Courts have now been repaired and new floor layed. Application for booking the courts still need more work. Better needs a better company for IT management.
Positive experience: Convenient parking but ever busy courts.
Positive experience: Main gym floor recently relayed in the past few years, but they never get cleaned!
Negative experience: I just want to know what kind of gym opens at 4 Pm.
Positive experience: Good equipment although changing rooms could improve.
