Positive experience: Excellent place to stay for the night. This is a POP for NZMCA members sob it had a few in there. Close to town. the nearest dump station is in Ruakaka

Fantastic experience: I was at Caledonian Park for the Scottish Highland games. Which I highly recommend you go to if you get the chance. Waipu is a great little town and a good time was had by all. I wouldn't know what the park looks like when there's no festival going on but it seemed to be a perfect park. It is home to the Waipu rugby and squash clubs. It's a large park with sports fields and it is in the center of Waipu making it easy to find. I thought it was also the perfect place to hold a large event. Plenty of room to set up food trucks and vendors. Even though it was very busy it didn't feel too crowded. Because I was there for the festival I really didn't notice if there was play equipment for kids but I can't imagine there isn't. I'm also pretty sure there are picnic tables and places to have a BBQ. There is what looked to be a multi-use large building where maybe people can rent for different occasions. On the day I was there they were selling beer inside. I did notice lots of tables set up as well. I'm sure they have a website where you can find all the amenities they have here. I highly recommend Caledonian Park and the Scottish Highland games.

Positive experience: Locals make a real mess of the ground especially when wet, flying in and out in their 4 wh drives. They think they look cool though. Even the olds driving in at speed to go bowling is frowned upon. Keep that speed down, especially during school holidays. Old enough to know better people!
