Positive experience: Very good and affordable sports centre with lots of facilities for all kinds of sports and clubs. As its a non for profit and specialises on being affordable for the community, their funds are limited to keep everything kept up. Can definitely seen run down spots here and there, but its a balance. Have been using the centre for at least 15 years.

Positive experience: While the court itself is fantastic, thieves are lurking around. Keep your valuables safe. My laptop was stolen from squash court recently.

Fantastic experience: Finsbury Leisure Centre offers a welcoming environment for football players of all levels. Whether you're playing casually with friends or participating in a league, it's a great place to enjoy the game.

Positive experience: Certainly in a great location. Walking distance from Old Street station. A bit sad about the building getting old. Water drips from the roof to badminton courts on a rainy day. Floors are all patchy with water damage. Thr ceiling is painted white with frosted windows. It's pretty hard to see shuttles. There's a water fountain on the lower floor. Very pricey and it's very cold in winter.

Fantastic experience: Finsbury Leisure Centre is being redeveloped, and they’re replacing the football pitches—where I’ve played every Thursday for over ten years—with flats. This redevelopment isn’t just about buildings; it’s ripping apart a community that has grown around these pitches, a space where people come together and bonds are built. The place that’s meant so much to so many of us is being destroyed, all in the name of profit. It’s infuriating to watch a piece of our lives and our community be erased.

Positive experience: Great place to play football but unfortunately they are getting rid of the pitches to build houses unless enough people sign the petition to keep them. So if you read this review please look for petition on line and let's try keep these pitches

Positive experience: Good location and helpful staff. Please fix the air con upstairs, the clock, water fountain, basement men's toilet door lock. All reported months/years ago. Facilities for martial arts good.

Fantastic experience: This is just nearby, I think, I went in to have a look at the touch on the futsal guys, otherwise it was just a stop on my way over to East London, but if I had to say something, I would say Dad, it is unreasonably legible

Positive experience: An excellent place to play football on some large, well maintained pitches. The only downside (hence the 4 star) is that there are quite a few biting bugs at all times except the winter. I had to wear bug spray to avoid getting bitten. Weird in London.

Negative experience: Over-priced badminton court, very cold in winter and rude staff! We had booked a badminton court. The court was not ready and the nets were not set up until just before our booking (we had to start setting it up). The moment the booking was over, the staff walked in the court saying the time is up and the court is booked, talking to us as if we were a group of kids. They then started taking down the nets right away. No one walked in the court for the next 10 min. Definitely the last time we are booking here.

Negative experience: The squash courts are adequate but the (men’s) changing room is grim. The amount of mould on the walls in the shower is a thing to behold. Recommend to change beforehand, and shower at home.

Fantastic experience: Great place to play Table Tennis on Sunday RUN BY HIGHBURY TT CLUB 11AM AND 1230 SESSION Very friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities. The astroturf surfaces needed some maintenance and they're much better now. They should have more water fountains please. Update: Improvements after the pandemic, the place is slowly coming to life. Staff are super polite, and they try to help whenever they can. They still need more water fountains

Fantastic experience: I recently signed my children up for the teacher strike day holiday club here at Finsbury, not only was this a HUGE help for me as a working Parent but my children absolutely loved it. They enjoyed all the activities on offer as well as making new friends. The club staff were all fantastic. I then signed them up for the summer programme which again has been a life saver! Thank you too all the Holiday club staff at Finsbury :)

Negative experience: Horrific Gym. Could be better funded. Hall has a draft and the staff won't turn it off even after serval complaints. Once the hall had a leak which is a hazard, especially if someone gets injured. Changing rooms are okay, and there's no toilet anywhere else. Water fountain is stationed on another level.. This is one of the most disoriented gyms I've seen.

Negative experience: The staff need to sweep the pitches, the rubber crumb has collected against the walls and it’s dangerous. 4g pitches need sweeping to avoid it collecting but you’ve stopped doing it and now it’s dangerous, players slip and fall regularly.

Fantastic experience: Great new Judo/Martial Arts/Self Defence class had on Wednesdays 18:30-20:00. Well worth a free trial class! They also, run an adults class on Sundays 10:30-12:00. Pictures are of the Dojo, before the session started which shows the mat for the main session and the area students can work on their own things using the bands (Uchi Komi) or stretch etc... Amazing find!

Positive experience: Used to be able to walk into an empty pitch as a kid and play football, now they lock the gates. Oh how times have changed

Positive experience: The badminton indoor is very cold during winters, apart from that, everything is good.

Positive experience: The location is good - within walking distance from Old Street and Barbican stations. Large changing rooms with 50p operated lockers (you can get the coin back) and there are hot showers. Hot water did not work a couple of times this year though. Very popular with football players as demonstrated by the amount of football paving bits left on the floor of the changing room - but it's not too big a deal. Also popular with badminton, squash and fitness classes - there's even a fencing club. Other facilities include toilets, water fountains, vending machines. All the standard things you expect, so in summary a decent place to play sports at.

Negative experience: A friend who wanted to improve their swimming came along sometimes to workout with me. When I tried to give them advice and show them new swimming skills the staff there asked me to leave, because I wasn’t allowed to “teach swim lessons” there. When I told them they are a friend and I wasn’t being paid for lessons, just having fun and teaching new skills to a friend, they asked me to show proof. How do you show proof that someone is your friend and/or isn’t paying you? I told them I’d sign an affidavit or provide anything they could think of to show proof. They couldn’t think of a way. So I had to stop or leave. I get they’re trying to run a business and don’t want a private swim instructor using their facilities for both legal and financial reasons, but what are people supposed to do when they want to work out with and help their friend improve in swimming? How is it different when someone is helping a friend improve lifting, tennis, football techniques? My friend and I ended up bringing our business elsewhere and have been happily swimming and training together since.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for years on & off..Zumba class on Wednesday evening is first class with Charlotte..Afrobeats, amazing!

Positive experience: Usually play Badminton there - A great place to play various sports

Negative experience: No one ever answers phone call. They make you listen to a very long message followed by options all of which lead you to “please visit their website” which itself is setup really awful that you can’t find any information apart from the most vanilla. Truly awful operator. I wish the council has not sold our activity centre out to this bunch.

Positive experience: I go here most Saturdays for my Yoga class with the best teacher in the world. Currently we have leak in the room but it doesn't stop us.

Fantastic experience: The Centre is currently (Xmas2020 through 2021) open as a Covid-19 test Centre. Its managed perfectly, many individual booths (possibly 25 or more) and lots of friendly staff obeying all Covid Safe procedures waiting to chaperone each person through the testing procedure. The Centre offers the TCR test and it takes about 5 mins. What really amazed me was my negative result appearing on my phone within 10 hrs. I will repeat these visits periodically, to keep a check on myself. More people should do the same. And you should up-date your NHS Covid 'Track n Trace' phone app.

Negative experience: Why can’t they leave the football pitches open for the youth it’s so frustrating that they close the pitches, staff can be rude have no manners, & £75 an hour is very expensive to book, Compare to other pitches in Islington

Negative experience: This place wants to mess with us kids and tell us come tomorow and get your medal for football and then you dont get what you want and deserve

Positive experience: I played football there a couple times. The pitches are good overall, but the start times are not punctual.

Positive experience: 5 a side pitches are good quality and the lockers take 50p coins (fyi). Pitch quality is good and staff are helpful. Main downside is after a tough game, the changing room becomes like a sauna and during the summer this can be an issue if you visit lunchtime.
