Ritual cafe and Gift Shop

Positive experience: I enjoy my regular visits to Ritual Cafe, and order the plant based options when I go. However, I do feel some disgust towards the ethical hypocrisy of the cafe serving products of animal abuse (specifically dairy and egg products which are the result of an exploitation of the magic of female bodies to produce breast milk and eggs) while also trying to appear as a conscious, ethical and compassionate business. Seems like wokewashing to me, and that ain't cool.

Fantastic experience: I love the self made food at Ritual. So many favors, Dahl, roti, chai with bliss bal or coffee with snicker slice. In these challenging times we need to support local small businesses. They work so hard to survive.

Fantastic experience: Gorgeous friendly staff, delicious food, and beautiful high quality shop! My favourite place to sit for a coffee after a yoga class in the studio upstairs

Fantastic experience: Exceptional Chai (as good as the best Indian chai of which we have had a lot!) & s cabinet of vegetarian and vegan options, in particular the daal curry and rice as well as the Jackfruit wrap with house vegan cheese for $18 NZD. The latter heated in hot press. Everything prepared in house so given that and the consistency over 4 separate days it offers value for money when some cafes are definitely charging 'island' prices. Some options are more appealing than others with the odd eggy dish. Very nice owner and staff. Daily offer for instance Chai & Roti wrap with tofu or paneer is $20 on Wednesdays. Seating inside and out with generally calm atmosphere as you may expect with a yoga studio upstairs.

Fantastic experience: Oh my goodness... Ritual!!! I stayed on the island for a week and went to Ritual cafe almost every day, mainly for coffee which was next level every time. The food was incredibly delicious and the service/atmosphere from the family who run the place is always exceptional. If I were to move or stay long-term on the island, I would definitely be a regular customer, and would also be doing yoga classes too. What an absolute gem!

Fantastic experience: Had lunch here last week and the food was absolutely divine. My husband had the Mr Bond wrap and I had the Dahl - both were delicious and I would recommend to anyone. The shop also has beautiful, quality clothing, yoga mats and other awesome pieces, I’d recommend to anyone visiting waiheke to stop by and check it out. Vegetarian options: The whole menu is vegetarian friendly. Dietary restrictions: Also caters wonderfully for vegans. Was so nice to have so many options.

Fantastic experience: This family run place is run with love and lots of it. Great service nothing is too hard for the staff to do for you. They make you feel really welcome. But the food and drinks are amazing too. Super fresh and reasonably priced. Finally a place that knows how to make filling and wholesome vegan food. Fantastic experience: Adorable coffee/tea house with yogui vibes, a family business attended by its owners. Mindful meals, cakes, bowls, yoga trainings and much more. I had the homemade Masala chai and it was delicious. I added to my post lots of pictures that I took in place to illustrate better this peaceful oasis with a unique style you will find in Waiheke Island, New Zealand. Furthermore, if you arrive by ferry for the day, you can take bus 50A and it will take you literally to the front door. Super recommended. Love, Ceci

Fantastic experience: Prem creates soul food that tastes exquisite. Her food is light, wholesome and nourishing. I have had the opportunity to experience it many times after our yoga practice. The cashew cheese and seed bread are my favourites.
