Fantastic experience: An experience not to be missed. Secret spot is perfect in every way. The staff, the tubs and the overall atmosphere. If you're feeling adventurous would also recommend a quick dip in the cold plunge tub so refreshing.

Positive experience: We had a good time in our hot tub in the forest, very calming surrounded by forest and a small creek. Recommend going for a cold plunge or two to not overheat. 45min is a good amount of time to enjoy the hot tub.

Fantastic experience: We usually book a private pool at Polynesian spa but decided to try something different this time and were glad that we did! Very well set up, we went during the day and were treated to a relaxing hot tub in a serene location. We got the last tub and due to the spring season the plants around us had plenty of leaves so didn't feel any lack of privacy like some of the other reviews have mentioned. We'll definitely visit again!

Negative experience: Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Waited 25 minutes for our drinks to arrive at the tub. We pressed the buzzer twice but no response. The hot tubs need more cleaning

Fantastic experience: We visited on a weekend and booked online. When you get to the reception, they’ll give you locker keys, and you can pre-order your food and drinks to be delivered straight to your hot tub, which is a nice touch. You can also order drinks by just pressing a button while you're in the tub, which is super convenient! The changing rooms are shared, with toilets and showers available. You can store your stuff in the lockers and take the key with you to the tub. Once you're in your hot tub, it's private, and the vibe is amazing. Since it was the weekend, it was a bit noisy, and the tubs are pretty close to each other thsn we expected, so you can feel the crowd around. But the tubs themselves are super nice, and the forest view is so peaceful. We went in the late evening, so we got to enjoy both the daylight and the cozy lighting once it got dark.

Lucky to come on 30 Sept as ticket price will be adjusted accordingly to rising cost of living. The native plants have grown taller since my last visit a year ago which provides total privacy. I listened to Spotify on low volume & enjoyed the entire experience! Worth every penny

Negative experience: THIS IS NOT A THERMAL SPA. Dig deep enough in the FAQ and it states this but as far as I am concerned in Rotorua it is what is expected. Nice setting but not what I went there for.

Positive experience: Stopped here for a relaxing soak in the hot tub after spending the day white water Rafting. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and we felt like royalty having our drinks served to us whilst in the hot tub. Not much privacy for changing in the bathrooms but still a relaxing experience.

Positive experience: Nice place. Water was hot but a bit dirty from all the trees around as this is an outdoor hot tub. There are occasional sulfur smells depending on the wind direction. Would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't raining. They also have cold water tub for people to cool off if people would like to. They have showers available as well with lockers. Towel hire options are also available. There is a small tumble dryer for people to dry their clothes so that you are not taking wet clothes with you. Photos attached are some of the views from the hot tub.

Fantastic experience: We have been to the Secret Spot Hit Tub for the first time and it was mesmerising! We got our own tub (which could easy fit 6 People) in total privacy, even if people would walk by, they could not see the tub or the people, also the neighbouring tubs are not visible! Soo relaxing. Each tub comes with a beautiful view into the forest! If you order drinks at the check in, they will be brought out and each tub has a bell in case you would like to order some more drinks, even a complementary bottle of water can be found at the tub. Robes and towels can be rented for 5 NZD each, in case you forgot yours. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and they explained everything to us. Of you book in advance, arrive 15min in advance of your booking time to allow payment, order of drinks and changing time to not fall into your hot tub time. All left for you to do? Sit back, enjoy the warm water and relax! We will definitely be back! Tip: ask for the tubs at the end of the rows! We had tub 12 and only on neighbouring tub. ;)

Positive experience: Very nice location, lovely and private hot tub, however what let this down for us was we pre ordered drinks to enjoy while relaxing and these were never delivered, also tried to ring the buzzer and this never worked. they did however apologize and give a refund on the drinks.

Positive experience: Great place, spa pools were awesome, only downside was the locker. Was given key to a locker, put my belongings in locker, when I went back after the spa I found someone else's belongings in my locker which I still had the key for and my belongings missing. Went to the reception and they had my belongings behind the reception desk, said there had been some sort of a double up , don't leave any valuables in the lockers!!!

Fantastic experience: Lovely setting and very private, but help is available at the press of a button. (Thanks for recovering my towel that fell over the edge.) The pool splashes over the side when you first climb in but don't worry - it gets refilled as you soak. Plenty warm enough and 45 minutes is plenty long enough.

Negative experience: I’ve visited 3 times in the last month. On two occasions the lights weren’t working at the hot tubs (5 & 6) and they were waiting for them to be fixed and yesterday the bushes had died back so people walking along the path next to me could see in my tub and there was a pretty good view of 3 other tubs surrounding me. It should be renamed “the spot”. I used to love it here when it felt secluded and you had your own private space, but not so much last Yesterday.

Fantastic experience: Such a wicked spot! Not overly secret, considering the amount of signs you pass on your way in, but awesome nonetheless. The setting is amazing, nestled amongst the native bush. If you like taking hot baths in semi private/public spaces, then this is definitely worth checking out. If you don’t, then you should at least grab a coffee and rest your feet in one of the several smaller hot tubs. Currently lobbying my local cafe to install foot hot tubs.

Fantastic experience: Visited here today on a staff day out and had an amazing time. Keith and team were extremely welcoming, couldn't do enough for us and ensured we had the best experience! The hot tubs themselves were super relaxing, the drinks service to the hot tubs was a nice touch and the range of drinks was impressive. I would definitely recommend dropping in here if you're in Rotorua!

Negative experience: 1 star for the heat of the pool, it was a good temperature. We were pretty disappointed in the rest of the experience. We watched quite a few of their videos on Instagram the night before and it gave the impression that it was a secluded, peaceful, serene environment that would leave you feeling relaxed. It was very far from that. We entered into a chaotic reception area sharing with people ordering food. The changing room back onto the small Cafe area and is very small and not private at all. Showers have no doors, if you want to change in private you have to use one of 3 small toilet cubicle. Then proceed to walk out infront of people sitting down eating and drinking food. The hot tub we were in had a view of the metal fence line, carpark and public toilet in the distance. And on the other side you can see the other bathers in the hot tub next to you. Sound wise, not serene. Sounded like the background noise of a public swimming pool as all you can hear is the people in the Cafe part talking etc. It didn't feel worth the price. I feel the advertisements for this place are misleading. Once you are finished you walk back past everyone dining, it's very uncomfortable. Over all it didn't feel like an overly hospitable experience including when we left, there was no farewell or even acknowledgement of our presence (noting, staff were not busy when we left, they were just standing there) Money would be better spent elsewhere.

Negative experience: The idea of the place is nice, but there is no privacy which was a huge down fall. I was shocked to hear I had to get changed in the changing rooms and then walk out in front of everyone to get to my spa. This made me extremely uncomfortable, to say the least. We could see people in the other spas next to us and hear them talking. I was expecting a nice relaxing private spa but it was not like that. The spa itself had a nice view and was great but if I had known it was very communal I would have not gone. I was immediately disappointed and didn't really want to do the activity after seeing how un private everything was. Wouldn't go back

Fantastic experience: WOW this place is AMAZING. I love a spa and was NOT disappointed. The stunning environment, the super quiet water, oh and the nice button to call someone to bring us refreshments didn't go a miss either! I was worried that my two young boys wouldn't be entertained enough during our soak in the tub, but they loved it and managed to relax too. I really enjoyed jumping out and grabbing a bite to eat afterwards while my boys played the outdoor games on the green by the Café/bar area. I just adore things that let us mums and dads enjoy something relaxing while including our kids. All in all, a completely lush way to spend a few hours - total family was happy and entertained.

Negative experience: Definitely wish the staff was nicer. They told us they’d get the tub ready and we’d wait 15 minutes. We walked to the tub once 15 minutes passed, excited for our experience, only to find stuff (rubbish) was still left behind from the last guests who used the tub. We pressed the bell to confirm with hosts if facilities were ready to be used, only to get a remark of, “are you sure it’s not your stuff?”. It’s funny because we arrived 15 minutes ago and it kinda goes to show staff were not paying attention with who walks through those doors for business. Luckily we had some privacy with our experience on a Sunday night, but we do wish that the distance between each tub is increased for more privacy and tranquility.

Positive experience: Great business idea… looks very profitable. They need a better system for drinks service in the hot tubs (Currently bring a physical credit card, like in the 1990s) I suggest QR code with menu and apple/google pay. Chuck in free WiFi and you will see huge increase in drink sales.

Fantastic experience: This place is a must-visit, whether after a bike ride in the redwoods or simply for a snack. The mince pies and fries/chips are amazing! The cold chocolate drink is also great if you have a sweet tooth. Not to mention the shinny dipping hot tubs to relax your feet in, which is so worth it in the winter. Definitely recommend!

Positive experience: Wonderful! A nice tropical garden style setting and tubs are big enough for four people. A wide variety of drinks may be ordered upon entry and they'll bring it to your tub. You'll have enough privacy, most of the tubs are separated by plants and trees (not or barely visible). Service is great, no fuzz and go for a dip in hot and wuuuhaaaa there are two shared cold tubs too!! Even if you're too much of a sissy, try to just stand upwards in it, until you get the sensation of your legs freezing up, then go back to the hot tub. You'll sleep like a baby that same night. The shower pressure is too weak and some lounge music at the tubs would make it a five star experience.

Negative experience: Went too experience your hot tubs. Because area and the tubs set into the natural environment, was just what I needed. BUT got into the tub looking forward to relaxing. When I got an overpowering smell of chlorine. This was not a mineral, thermal water. It was highly chemical water. Very very disappointing. No where do you tell people this. Not happy

Positive experience: Not a bad activity to do on a cold rainy day. Friendly staff and well priced. There are showers in change rooms and you get a small locker in the change rooms as well as a tub container at the hot tub itself. I recommend BYO towel.

Fantastic experience: Absolut empfehlenswert! Man bekommt seinen eigenen Pool und hat wirklich seine Privatsphäre. Das Wasser empfand ich als angenehm warm, auch bei kälteren Außentemperaturen. Alle Mitarbeitenden waren sehr freundlich. Handtücher und Bademäntel konnte man gegen Gebühr leihen.

Fantastic experience: Es war ein richtig entspannender Besuch. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Hot Tubs waren sehr warm und in Kombination mit den kalten Tubs ein echtes Spa Erlebnis! Die Umkleidekabinen waren sauber und es gab auch einen Föhn! Getränke können vom Pool aus bestellt werden und sie werden direkt an den Pool gebracht! Meiner Meinung nach absolut empfehlenswert für Leute, die eine ruhige und entspannte Zeit unter sich haben wollen!

Staff are friendly and accommodating. Good range of drinks including low and zero beers. When the food van is open the burgers are great. Book in advance for a hot tub or chance it on the day. Sun or shine they're a great option.

You can order drinks in the tub, while you relax in some beautiful NZ nature. Recommend booking in advance. Lockers are free and towel hire was $5 for towels for two of us.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place for a night out. You can rent a tub that fits 6 for 45 minutes. You can chill in the tub and then make a quick run to the chilling tank to cool down. They also have tub side drink and food service, which is awesome. Each tub is secluded, hidden within some vegetation for privacy. I highly recommend coming for a visit.

You get your own tub (up to 6), I got one with a last minute booking. You can get drinks delivered. 45 mins is a huge amount of time, I recommend finishing off with the cold plunge. Fantastic experience: I booked the experience online- very easy and simple process. Check in went smoothly, staff (the guy) was very friendly. Everything around was very quiet, peaceful and the fresh air made everything very relaxing. I 100% recommend doing the cold bath as well. Fantastic experience: So incredibly tranquil, I have been here a couple of times with my partner. Once in the evening and once late afternoon. The facilities are clean and tidy, the hot tubs are lovely and private feeling, bonus that you can also get cold beverages brought directly to your tub! Their shiny dips are also a fab idea and feel incredible after a day riding in the forest.

Fantastic experience: I bought the tickets 1 hour before going there on a Thursday. 39$ per person and I think the price is really good in this case. Nice showers, you can put your feet in hot water before or after your time in the hot tub and they being the drinks you ordered to the hot tub. For me 45min in there was okay because I think much longer and it would have been too much for my body haha. But the hot tub itself was gorgeous. Surrounded by the forest. I wish this was in Germany so I could go there all the time 10/10 would do again. And the staff is lovely too :)

It is surprisingly cheap (compared to almost every other place in New Zealand). The level of cleanliness is great, the staff is very friendly and the changing rooms were meticulously clean. The cold plunge at the end was perfect and I managed to do the full minute (woohoo!) I loved this place and would highly recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: A slice of paradise. Great for friends but also can be very romantic. I do wish there was some instrumental music in the background because it’s very easy to hear other hot tubs directly around if you talk too loud, but luckily that wasn’t an issue. We didn’t take advantage of the service, but you can have drinks brought to you. They provide ice water automatically. It was misty rain outside, so the hot tub was very nice! You can rent a swimsuit and towel if needed. I felt so relaxed after; highly recommend.

The temperature of the water was just perfect, providing warmth and comfort while the cool air brushed against my skin, creating a delightful contrast. What really impressed me was the attention to detail in maintaining privacy and comfort. Each hot tub is strategically placed to offer seclusion and a sense of intimacy, making it ideal for both romantic getaways and peaceful solo retreats. The tubs are well-maintained and clean, ensuring a hygienic and safe experience for all guests.

Fantastic experience: Hot tubs were so nice. Great view and felt very private. Changing women room were big but no stalls to change in only open area. Three toilets. Three showers but open (no doors). Freely staff.

Fantastic experience: Very secluded springs surrounded by ferns and with a view of the stream. A lovely spot to relax and the ice pools were super refreshing afterwards! Good value.
