Experiencia fantástica: 5/5– First day here and already hooked! Just checked out American Fitness in New Braunfels for the first time today, and wow..what a great spot! Walking in, it immediately hit me with that classic old-school gym vibe: no fancy frills or overwhelming lights, just a solid, straightforward place built for real workouts. It feels authentic and right in the best way. The staff was super friendly right off the bat.. they greeted me warmly, showed me around without any pressure, and made me feel welcome as a total newbie. The equipment layout is spot-on; everything flows logically so you can move through your session easily..no hunting around or awkward crowding. They’ve got a ton of free weights, machines, and space that just makes sense. The people training here seem awesome too they seem focused, respectful, and friendly without any ego. It’s nothing like the big corporate chains (Gold’s Gym, Lifetime, Anytime Fitness, etc.), and honestly, that’s exactly why I loved it. This place has a real community feel, like a local gem where everyone’s just there to get after it. Super impressed for a first visit. If you’re in New Braunfels and want something genuine and welcoming, definitely give it a try…I’m already planning to come back!

Experiencia fantástica: I enjoy American Fitness in New Braunfels! Great variety of equipment, lots of StairMasters, and everything is indoors so it’s never too hot. Bathrooms are usually clean, and the staff is friendly and attentive. It can get crowded, but I just go at quieter times. Overall, a solid gym.

Experiencia fantástica: Love this place!! Been going here since I was about 15 years old when Ron use to own the gym. Jay the owner is awesome, runs a great gym and has amazing convenient hours. Wide variety of machines, a win all around.

Experiencia fantástica: I had an amazing experience coming in and Amber really set the tone of how the place is. (She remembered my name and our conversation). It’s nice and clean, the protein smoothies are at a reasonable price - including the points you get from signing in and buying their products. They also have a great community here. Coming in is something I look forward after work and I always appreciate the way I feel after leaving the gym. Thank you for an awesome experience!

Even have bonus stuff like InBody, smoothies, and a sauna! MY ONLY QUALM with this place, is TOO MANY KIDS ARE ALLOWED IN. I dont mean 18/19 year olds. I mean like 6, 8 or 10 year olds. I come to workout to get away from everything else and pump some iron with like-minded adults, and kids break that illusion for me. Im not saying 1 or 2 kids... its like 5 or 6 at a time. I just don't think a gym is somewhere they should be, especially at this frequency.

Experiencia fantástica: I switched to this gym from golds and such a better experience. It does get busy at times but I’ve never had to wait for equipment . Plenty of machines , different varieties , facility is clean and staff is nice . Bathroom is always clean , sauna is nice and they have a smoothie bar , supplements and a drink cooler .

Jay, the owner, has created a gym that’s fully stocked with every piece of weightlifting equipment you could ever dream of, from racks and platforms to specialty bars, machines, and free weights in every size. The place is clean, organized, and has an old-school hardcore vibe that makes you want to push yourself harder. Jay’s passion for fitness shows in every detail, and you can tell he truly cares about the lifting community. If you’re serious about getting stronger, this is the place to be!

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to workout at! Modern machine weight and plenty of benches to use! This is mainly for lifting and no cardio classes. They do have elliptical, bicycle, etc. As well as trainers. Staff is awesome and polite.

Experiencia fantástica: Awesome gym. They hooked me up with a month long temporary membership while I was in town. At the end of that month, they gave me a free workout even though my membership expired 2 days before that. They are very Pro-military and Pro-Law enforcement. Safe place to workout and not too crowded. It's much better than Gold Gym.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the best gym I have been apart of and I have had quite a few different memberships. Equipment is extremely well maintained. I have seen multiple different machines have issues and it never took more then 24 hrs to get it back up. Also it seems like a new machine is being installed every week. Plenty of dumbbells and plates for all equipment even when the gym is packed. Everything is very clean and sanitary and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Also they make a delicious protein smoothie. I highly recommend you make this your forever gym.

Experiencia positiva: This gym has incredible potential to become a top-tier destination. They’re in the process of upgrading equipment and have recently added new dumbbells. The staff is outstanding—welcoming and friendly—and they offer a solid selection of pre-workout, post-workout, and hydration RTD options. However, the music is typically too low and often geared toward what I’d imagine a 13 yr old girl listens to while working out, which might not suit most gym-goers. The lighting could also be improved, especially for those who create content. Overall, it’s a great space with room for a few adjustments to enhance the experience.

Staff were helpful and enthusiastic, loved the variety of machines, and the space was very clean and well maintained. The music was outdated and distracting, meaning I had to go and get my headphones but overall it wasn't a big deal. Would recommend going here.

Experiencia fantástica: Great gym and atmosphere. The staff is great and you can tell there is a sense of community/identity within the gym. There is plenty of equipment of all types and I’ve never had to wait for something. We switched from Golds for this reason. Another great thing is their guest policy. It’s great for when friends are in town. They can grab a workout and it doesn’t cost 1/2 of a full month’s price like every other gym.

Tons of equipment, warehouse feel, racks/rigs and bumper plates for Olympic Lifting. Staff and members are super welcoming and helpful. This is THE SPOT! Looking forward to getting it in tomorrow morning. ️‍♂️

A great family owned local business with a lot of space and a good variety of equipment and free weights. Whether you’re just starting out or serious and training for an upcoming meet you will find others here to relate too. The environment is always positive with a small town feel. You can’t get this kind of atmosphere at a corporate gym so come out and join the American Fitness family.

Experiencia fantástica: I been coming to this gym in the mornings for about three weeks now and it’s starting to become one of the best highlights of my day. The staff is friendly, and the people coming here are friendly. Some of the equipment are old and some are new. The equipment is spread out so you have to walk around to find what you need but that’s no issue here. The sauna is small but I look forward to it every day. It’s a better experience than going to one of those big name brand gyms.

The best part is the sauna and they replaced the old one with a new one and it’s perfect. They have showers if you need to get ready after a sweaty workout as well as vanity mirrors lockers. Reasonably priced for the amount of equipment they have, bathroom space and sauna. They also have a smoothie bar with different proteins and add ins.

I have visited a few gyms in new braunfels, and they all feel crammed and ego filled. American is the place to be, 5 stars isn’t enough!!! the only thing I would ask for it to be different is the saunas. You can tell they’ve been around for awhile and need replacement/fixing!
