Mac's a winner of The Ultimate Fighter and a UFC pro that's earned Fight of the Night 3 times and Knockout of the Night (check out his Wikipedia page). Black belt in BJJ. He's spent his life training with the toughest people on the planet. Mac and Angie both have a very deep understanding of what they teach that's been tested and proven. You'd be lucky to find a gym of this caliber in a major city, let alone in Bend. They're the real deal. Mac and Angie are also two of the friendliest and kindest people you'll ever meet. They care deeply about helping their students progress and learn, from beginners to experts, and have built an incredible and welcoming community that help each other improve. Having had instructors from many different arts for a lot of years, this is the place you want to learn at. Amazing instructors and instruction from the basic to high technical movements. They are experienced fighters/martial artists that truly understand their craft. They are extremely invested in their students progress as martial artist and Will teach you at a level that’s appropriate for your skill level while Simultaneously pushing you and challenge you to go to the next level. If you want to learn Muay Thai kickboxing/grappling/MMA this is the place to go.

Mac and Angela have a ton of technical experience and are happy to teach it. Whether you are beginner or already a ninja Danzig MMA is a great place to train. Mac and Angela have done a great job of building a community of students eager to learn without a lot of ego you may find elsewhere. Definitely check it out!

I first trained with Mac as an admirer of his fighting career in Pride and the UFC, but I quickly realized that he is undoubtably the most knowledgeable and thoughtful coach I’ve ever had. Mac has decades of experience training at an elite level, but he knows how to distill his technical and strategic knowledge to beginners that exemplifies how thoroughly he understands fighting. It is rare to find someone with the combination of compassion and world class fighting ability that Mac has, and I couldn’t recommend working with him and Angela enough. Experiencia fantástica: Just checked this gym out while in town from Boston. Its clean, its legit, all the people there are welcoming, and its for all levels. Mac is a super cool guy, very friendly. Ill definitely be returning every chance I get while I am here in Bend. If you're in the area trying gyms out and looking to start somewhere, I absolutely recommend this one.

Experiencia fantástica: Seen multiple 'fighters' from this gym get into brawls at jiu jitsu competitions. Disgraceful. All I needed to see to never recommend this establishment to anyone. EDIT: I really appreciate the response from the owner here. I will fully admit that I have no first hand experience in training at this gym, just observations as an avid jiu jitsu competitor and coach. If those observations are incorrect I will happily adjust my opinions correctly. I will change my review until I can have a conversation with someone from this gym. I completely understand the potential ramifications a bad google review can have. If I have an impression I want for it to be based in fact. I don't want my review to be deleted, so I will change to 5 stars and seek a conversation as the owner offered.

Mac is an MMA legend and one of the most knowledgeable coaches in the game. I’ve had a lot of coaches in my life so far and I can honestly say Mac is the highest level, yet most down to earth, friendly and welcoming coach I have ever had. Whether you’re a beginner on your first day, or a pro, Danzig MMA will welcome you all the same. You won’t find a better coach in Oregon, Mac is top of the line.

Mac is one of the best combat sport instructors I have ever met, and he is also a true martial artist. Under Mac you can learn high-level wrestling, submission grappling, and striking. However, the aspect of his teaching I found most valuable was his ability to stitch it all together in MMA.
